Unbound from Wealth: A New Way of Living Together

 • Series: Unbound

Rev. Tish Bowman, preaching Discussion Questions: 1. Read Acts 2:42-47. What part of the Acts 2 passage stands out to you most, and why? 2. Have you ever experienced a “village” or close-knit community like the one described? What made it meaningful (or difficult)? 3. What holds you back from pursuing deeper community with others in your church or neighborhood? 4. How do you personally relate to the idea of being “unbound from wealth”? What fears or attachments come up? 5. What does “enough” look like in your life—and how might that definition change in a more communal context? 6. What would it look like for you to “hold your possessions loosely”? Can you think of a recent opportunity where you could have shared more freely? 7. How might your group or church better reflect the radical generosity and community of the early church? 8. John Wesley said, “Earn all you can, save all you can, give all you can.” Which part is most difficult for you to practice, and why? 9. What “small start” could you make this week to build or support community—whether offering help, initiating a conversation, or inviting someone in? 10. Are you more comfortable giving help or receiving it? Why do you think that is, and how might that affect community life? 11. Do you agree that our culture’s obsession with wealth and self-reliance can isolate us from one another? How have you seen this play out in your life or community? 12. In what ways could loosening your grip on wealth and possessions bring more freedom, peace, or joy to your life?
